Sharks do not appear to heal major wounds on their own.
Exactly the opposite case was seen in one incident.
The shark repaired its broken fin within a year.

In a shocking incident, scientists observed that a shark’s fin broke off, but it grew back on its own after a year. Only a few animals have the ability to regenerate limbs in this way and certainly not marine creatures like sharks. That is why this news is very surprising.

The study published in the Journal of Marine Sciences mentions this surprising incident which was seen off the coast of Florida state of America. Scientists found a broken fin of a shark of Carcarinus falciformis species healed within a year

It is not easy to witness such an incident because identifying a shark is a very difficult task. But fortunately, in June 2022 itself, scientists had placed a satellite tag on the shark’s dorsal fin. Only a month later, Chelsea Black, a marine biologist at the University of Miami and lead author of the study, was told by a local driver that a shark had been tagged, which alerted the researchers.

When Black saw a photo of the spot where the tag was found. They understood that no matter what, the shark was definitely injured and its wound would not be small or big. But there was no way to know his condition now. But after 332 days, the researchers finally saw the shark again and it was alive.

But the surprising thing was that his broken wings had grown again. And within a year he had rebuilt 87 percent of his broken wing. What’s more, she was swimming normally in the sea. While small repairs are seen in sharks like other animals, such extensive repairs have never been seen before.

But in the case of shark fin regeneration, scientists have not been able to find out whether this healing was due to the formation of new tissue or whether the same tissue had grown again. But yes, scientists have definitely noticed that the color of the new feather is somewhat different.
